Ignacio J. Andrade Cifuentes is an associate at Ponte Andrade Casanova since July 2019, having previously worked at Araque Reyna Sosa Viso & Asociados (2015), where he performed as lawyer since July, 2018.

Ignacio’s practice focuses on local and international taxation, commercial and corporate law, regulatory law and civil law. He has advised on corporate and tax planning for local and foreign companies, and has advised on the regulatory aspects of their execution. He has experience in inheritance and wealth management, both from civil and tax standpoints, and has advised individuals in the management of their estates.

Ignacio has advised clients in proceedings initiated by the national and municipal tax authorities, as well as in civil and labor proceedings before the Lower Courts, Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Justice. He has also advised on regulatory, corporate and tax aspects in various activities, such as mining, digital streaming, entertainment, customs, among others.

Ignacio is currently Professor of International Taxation, which serves as a general introduction to the basic concepts of International Taxation and to the problems posed by subjecting international businesses and transactions to direct and indirect taxation. He serves as Assistant Professor of Civil Law I, which introduces students to the applicable regimes to individuals and legal entities, at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.

Finally, Ignacio served as a lecturer at the XVII and XVIII Conferences on Venezuelan Tax Law. The former was all about Taxation and Digitalisation, and his lecture dealt with the recent trends of the international taxation of e-commerce, and whether the current Venezuelan Tax Regime lives up to the never-ending technological advancements. The latter was about the deficiencies of the current Venezuelan tax system, and his lecture was on how to ensure Legal Certainty in tax assessment procedures.
