Plenary Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice decrees judicial recess from August 15, 2023, to September 15, 2023

On August 2, 2023, the Plenary Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice published Resolution No. 2023-0003, which decrees a judicial recess from August 15, 2023, to September 15, 2023. Thus, no court will be in session between these dates. In this sense, all cases are suspended during this period and the judicial lapses will not run.

The Plenary Chamber establishes that the courts will take the pertinent measures so that the public service of the administration of justice is not suspended. Thus, courts will be authorized to proceed with urgent matters.

In matters of constitutional protection, all days of the aforementioned period shall be considered working days, and the Judges shall be obliged to process and sentence such proceedings. On the other hand, the Criminal Courts will remain active nationwide.

During the judicial recess, the Constitutional and Electoral Chambers of the Supreme Court of Justice will remain on duty. At the same time, the Justices of the Constitutional Chamber and the Criminal Chamber will maintain the necessary quorum to deliberate.
